Cornyn FEC Filing Shows Strong Start to 2020 Race

Senator Cornyn begins 2019 with nearly $6 million on hand, plans to support GOP leaders

Austin – On Thursday, Texans for Senator John Cornyn filed their fourth quarter report with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) for the year-end period of October 1 – December 31, 2018. This report shows the Senator’s cash on hand currently stands at a total of $5.79 million. Raising $491,000, the campaign is off to a strong start ahead of 2020.

“This strong showing is demonstrative of Senator Cornyn’s widespread support from Texans across the state,” said John Jackson, campaign manager.  “The national Democratic party is coming to take Texas and Senator Cornyn isn’t going to let them.”

In addition to the announcement of former RPT Chairman Steve Munisteri joining Senator Cornyn’s campaign for re-election as a Senior Advisor earlier this week, today’s announcement follows endorsements by Senator Ted Cruz and Lt. Governor Dan Patrick who called Cornyn a “a principled leader who has been a great U.S. Senator for Texas.”
