MILITARY & VETERANS

Senator Cornyn learned the value of patriotism and service to our country from his father, who spent 31 years in the military — including time as a B-17 pilot in World War II. Like his own story, nearly one in every 12 U.S. service members today call Texas home. The Lone Star State also hosts 15 major military installations and several defense production facilities.

Senator Cornyn supported the largest pay increase for U.S. service members in a decade and fought for an additional $400 million for military construction projects in Texas.

He also introduced the bipartisan Support Our Military Spouses Act to ease the relocation process for military families, and fought to safeguard the voting rights of military service members and their families.

Supporting our soldiers means taking exceptional care of our veterans. Senator Cornyn spearheaded efforts to ensure high quality medical and mental health for our veterans, leading efforts to pass the VA Mission Act and Veteran Urgent Access to Mental Healthcare Act, among many more.

He also authored and passed the HAVEN Act, protecting the economic security and well-being of veterans and their families who rely on disability benefits and may be experiencing financial hardship.

What is good for our military is good for Texas and good for America.
